You are Artyom, born in the last days before the fire, but raised underground. An entire generation has been born and raised underground, and their besieged Metro Station-Cities struggle for survival with each other, and the mutant horrors that await outside.
A handful of survivors took refuge in the depths of the Moscow underground, and human civilization entered a new Dark Age. just like reapers) was the "right/best" ending choice, and how all the endings(even the rebellion one) were all bad in some way.especially after all your shepard had gone through(if paragon) to be as good as possible. In 2013 the world was devastated by an apocalyptic event, annihilating almost all mankind and turning the earth’s surface into a poisonous wasteland. I also hated how the endings made it seem like fulfilling the reapers goal(making everything organic into organic/machine hybrids(i.e. I DID, however, balk at how the krogan genephage was considered by many to be justified in that series(and they tried selling it as such in many ways). Iirc the council wanted the rachni queen killed in ME1.Īs to ME3: The rachni in there were enslaved by the reapers/ai, so they had no choice. ''Genocide'' invokes images of mass slaughter of innocents but it really isn't the case here.
From a moral standpoint, I find it interesting that ''genocide'' is considered abhorrent by the councillors even when it just means killing a few individuals who are presenting a direct threat to you and could potentially be even more dangerous if set loose.
#Metro 2033 canon ending free
Setting them free is the designated ''good'' morality choice, even though I distinctly remember having to fight the creepy crawlies again in ME3. You get chewed out either way, and frankly it shouldn't be up to Shepard to make that choice anyway. TentacleMayor: Reminds me of Mass Effect when you get the choice of wiping out the Rachni or setting them loose. So what do you guys think? Are there any choices you have to make in a game or choices/endings painted as good/moral that leave a bad taste in your mouth or leave you scratching your head? If so, feel free to chime in. In the end, I felt no hesitation and wiped them out, although I did replay it to see the other ending and was just left asking: Did the devs really expect me to feel sorry for these creatures after all they put me through? :\Īnother choice in gaming (Spoilers once more ahoy) is where you have to kill(or avoid ) the monks in Undying(past monastery levels) because they attack you on sight.yeah they killed anyone who left the order and practiced some magic, but they didn't seem worthy of being killed for any of that(imo).although I could be wrong on this one. In it (SPOILERS AHEAD) you are forced to choose between saving the dark ones(whose minions/underlings hunted you the entire game) as the "correct/good" ending/choice, and basically wiping them out(which is imo justified after what they did to you and tried to do to you towards the end especially) is seen as the "bad" choice. I ask as this happened to me recently with METRO 2033. Does anyone else ever get that feeling when you complete a game(or are close to it) and you either watch the credits/end scenes play out/are faced with a "good" choice that leaves a bad taste in your mouth?
